Balgowlah
Location: Balgowlah
Architect: Adam Hobbs, Hobbs Jamieson
This project involved the restoration of a war era cottage and a new contemporary extension to create a parents retreat and new kitchen and living space.
The cottage required a large amount of remedial work to salvage the existing structure before the existing bedrooms, living area, study and bathroom were brought up do date to create a separate area for the children.
The rear extension is a great example of a well thought out design on a small building footprint. Using height and glass to let in light and create a wonderful sense of space and openess both in the lounge area and into the parents loft through the wall sized sliding window in the master bedroom.
A new pool and beautiful entertaining deck completes this blend of old and new into a perfect family home.
